Tiger with nothing to compete has rocked the box office becoming second highest grossing film of 2017 year

Mumbai: With the ending of the year 2017 Salman Khan latest release Tiger Zinda Hai overtake the lifetime collection of the one of biggest success stories (Golmaal Again) in wait for it seven days, it is nothing short of incredible. Salman really know to make his film work at the box office isn’t it.

In a week, the film, which is a sequel to 2012’s Ek Tha Tiger and also stars Katrina Kaif,has collected Rs 206.04 crore. Only ‘Bollywood’ film with more numbers than Ek Tha Tiger is not really a Bollywood film. It is the SS Rajamouli’s Hindi dubbed version of originally Tamil-Telugu film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

One might say Tiger Zinda Hai benefitted from less competition at the box office. The only film that was doing well when it released was Fukrey Returns. But it is still a huge achievement. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures.

Record of books is finally being rewritten as Salman Khan scored another major success with Tiger Zinda Hai as the film has entered the 200 crore Club in just one week. Standing at 206.04 crore (after bringing in 15.42crore  on Thursday), the film is going great guns and has added on the repertoire of major biggies delivered by Salman Khan in the current decade.

His other biggies in this league are Bajrangi Bhaijan and Sultan (both of which entered the 300 crore Club) followed by Kick and Prem Ratan Dhan Pio (both of which went past the 200 crore mark). As a matter of fact if only Ek Tha Tiger would have covered that little extra distance, it too would have been Salman Khan’s double century (it stopped at 198 crore  actually!)For Katrina Kaif too there is a lot to rejoice since she has now delivered yet another Christmas biggie after Dhoom 3 (which again had Yash Raj Films as the producers). She is pretty much looking at some phenomenal times ahead as 2018 would feature her in a biggie each with Aamir Khan [Thugs of Hindostan] and Shah Rukh Khan [The Aanand L. Rai film], both of which are potential blockbusters in the making. Anyway again Khan takes up box office in hand with Tiger zinda hai as year ending above block buster movie.
