Watch: Harnaaz Sandhu won Miss Universe 2021 crown, here’s the answer to final question

Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned Miss Universe 2021. Harnaaz, from Punjab, represented India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021 pageant, which took place in Eilat, Israel, on Monday. The 21-year-old Chandigarh-based model won home the prized crown after 21 years, which is a proud moment for the country.

Harnaaz was crowned Miss Universe 2021 after defeating Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane of South Africa.

She was in the top three round, along with Nadia Ferreira and Lalela Mswane, where the participants were posed a moving question.

The question that the finalists were asked was, “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?”

Harnaaz had quite an inspiring answer to the question. “Well, I think the biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful, stop comparing yourselves with others, and let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide. I think this is what you need to understand. Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own life. I believe in myself and that’s why I’m standing here today. Thank you,” she said.

For the uninitiated, Harnaaz is the third Indian woman to win Miss Universe, after Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
