Udaipur: Tailor Murder Accused Overpowered By Cops While Fleeing

Two men who were caught on camera murdering a tailor in Rajasthan’s Udaipur attempted to flee the city on a motorcycle before being apprehended by police.

Kanhaiya Lal, 48, a tailor, was murdered in his shop by two Muslim men over social media posts about Prophet Muhammad. The two men who gloated over the murder in a video even threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The case has been taken over by the country’s frontline anti-terror organisation, the National Investigation Agency, or NIA.

According to Rajsamand police chief Sudheer Chaudhary, the two men, who were wearing helmets, sped the bike on a highway on the outskirts of Udaipur as they attempted to flee.

They were flagged down by a police team guarding a barricade. When the two attempted to flee, the cops overpowered them and arrested them. All of this was captured on video by Nitin Agrawal, the Congress’s social media coordinator.

Kanhaiya Lal is survived by his wife and two sons, one of whom is 18 and the other is 20. The state government has announced a 31 lakh compensation package for the family, as well as jobs for both children.

According to the police, the situation in Udaipur is calm, with only sporadic minor incidents.

Kanhaiya Lal recently posted comments in support of Nupur Sharma, a BJP spokesperson who made offensive remarks about Prophet Mohammad during a televised debate.
