Gautam Adani becomes the fourth wealthiest man in the world

Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani has left behind Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, to become the fourth wealthiest person in the world, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List. The 60-year-old business tycoon’s net worth reached $115.5 billion on Thursday, surpassing Mr. Gates, whose fortunes are at $104.6 billion. Mukesh Ambani, his fellow countryman, is tenth on the list with a capital of $90 billion.

The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, who has been involved in a massive controversy after his bid to buy Twitter only to abandon it later, with $235.8 billion, is at the top of the list.

The Adani group Chairman is renowned for transforming a small commodity trading business into a corporation spanning ports, mines, and green energy. His push into green energy and infrastructure will pay off on bets as PM Modi looks to restore the $2.9 trillion economy and achieve India’s carbon net-zero target by 2070″. Few of Adani Group’s listed stocks have grown more than 600% in the past two years.

Mr. Gautam Adani on Thursday said the group had won the tender for the denationalization of a port in Israel in collaboration with Gadot. The Haifa Port is one of Israel’s three major international seaports. Adani Group further said it competes to acquire spectrum. They would use this to create a private network to support its businesses from airports to power and data centers.

To celebrate his 60th birthday last month, Mr. Gautam Adani pledged to donate 60,000 crores to various social causes.
