A Kashmiri Pandit got killed in Shopian.

Terrorists killed a Kashmiri Pandit on Saturday in Chowdhary Gund village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district as the hunt for the culprits continues.

Police identified the dead as Pooran Krishan Bhat and stated that he was severely injured in the terrorists’ firing and was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

“Terrorists opened fire on a civilian (minority) Bhat on his way to an orchard in Chowdhary Gund, Shopian.” He was promptly transferred to a hospital for treatment, where he died. “The area has been sealed off, and searches are ongoing,” Kashmir Zone Police said.

According to police, Bhat was targeted while on his way to an orchard.

Bhat did not leave Kashmir even when the bloodshed was at its climax in the 1990s.

In an interview with Greater Kashmir, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, stated that the police have begun an inquiry and that preliminary findings indicate that the terrorists used a pistol to carry out the crime.

“A hunt has been initiated, and the perpetrators will be apprehended very soon,” he stated.

According to police, after terrorists killed a member of the minority group, senior cops and reinforcements arrived at the terror crime scene.

“At about 12:50 p.m., terrorists opened fire on a civilian from the minority group identified as Pooran Krishan Bhat, son of Darkinath Bhat, who was on his way to an orchard in the Chowdary Gund region of Shopian district,” police said. “He had received significant gunshot wounds and was promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he died.”
