Top Cop: Mangaluru Auto Explosion “Act of Terror,” Pressure Cooker Found

The autorickshaw blast in Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Saturday was not an accident but rather an “act of terror with the intent to cause serious damage,” according to the state police chief. Karnataka’s top cop, Praveen Sood, added that the police are investigating the incident alongside federal authorities.

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has also stated that central investigation teams assist police with the investigation.

“The person injured in the blast is still unable to speak. The police are gathering all of the information. Early indications in the investigation point to terrorist activity. We notified the central security agencies, who dispatched a team to Mangaluru. We anticipate receiving concrete information within the next one or two days, “He stated.

According to NDTV, police recovered a “burned pressure cooker with batteries” inside the autorickshaw.

When the autorickshaw exploded near a building under construction, two people were injured: the driver and a passenger.
