With medical teams, 2 Indian Air Force aircraft land in earthquake-stricken Turkey.

India on Tuesday sent assistance to Turkey in the wake of the devastating earthquake and numerous aftershocks that killed over 4,000 people. This assistance included relief supplies, a mobile hospital, and specialized search and rescue teams in two C-17 Globemaster military transport aircraft.

According to people familiar with the situation, two additional flights will soon be expected to carry additional relief supplies, including medical equipment, to Turkey. A third flight is scheduled to be sent to Syria, which was also affected by the Monday earthquake.

Many nations worldwide have assisted both nations in their rescue and recovery efforts. In this challenging time, India expresses its solidarity, according to a tweet from S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs.

In a different tweet, S Jaishankar claimed he had spoken with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad to offer India’s support and express solidarity.

“Two Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, heavy lift aircraft, carrying personnel from @NDRFHQ and #HADR gear have left India for Turkey. India supports the Turkish people during this challenging time “Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, tweeted.

Turkish rescuers are working against the clock to find and rescue people trapped under the ruins of thousands of buildings.

Early in the morning, the first C-17 transport plane of the Indian Air Force, carrying a team of search and rescue workers, specially trained dog squads, drilling equipment, relief supplies, and medications, touched down in Adana in the earthquake-stricken nation.

Around noon, a second IAF plane carrying comparable cargo was dispatched to Turkey.
