Witnesses and security officials said that, less than 48 hours before the USA had concluded its withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, several rockets were fired at Kabul airport Monday.The AFP personnel heard the sound of rockets over the capital before the early morning hour started.
A security officer working in the administration toppled by the Taliban two weeks ago said that a car in northern Kabul fired rockets.
Locals who also reported shrapnel falling on the street — that at least one rocket was intercepted — could hear the airport’s rocket defence.Over buildings on the north, where the international airport Hamid Karzai is located, Smoke could be seen.Social media posts — which cannot be verified immediately — showed also a vehicle on fire after a reprehensible fire appeared to be struck.
