Autonomous Commission For Selection Of Teachers To Be Set In UP

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, issued a directive today mandating the formation of an independent commission to appoint teachers in various educational institutions. This will help to ensure time-bound hiring, better human resource utilization, and financial restraint.
To select qualified teachers for the state’s basic, secondary, higher, and technical educational institutions, separate authorities, boards, and commissions have been established.

At a meeting, the chief minister declared that teachers are also chosen using the Examination Regulatory Authority and the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, Secondary Education Service Selection Commission, and Higher Education Service Selection Commission.

According to him, the selection process for minority higher- or secondary-education institutions is carried out through the Board of Management for minority institutions. It is carried out through the Board of Governance or Board of Directors for technical institutions.

According to Adityanath, creating a unified commission for teacher selection would be appropriate for practical reforms.

According to a statement made here, he suggested giving teacher selection commissions an integrated form and creating the “Uttar Pradesh Siksha Seva Chayan Ayog” (Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission) as a corporate body.

The Commission should be set up as a separate corporate entity, and it will be this entity that establishes the rules for hiring teachers directly.

He gave officials the go-ahead to draught and present the proposal, laying out the parameters for the new Commission’s nature. He also stated that the Commission’s qualifications for its chairman and members, as well as its authority and scope of authority, should be determined.

He suggested that the position of chairman of the Commission be filled by a person who currently holds a position, such as vice chancellor of a university or has extensive experience in the Indian Administrative Service.

Likewise, the group should include senior judges and knowledgeable educators. He added that the Commission should include representation from other underprivileged classes, scheduled castes and tribes, women, and minorities.
