Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, urged Hindus not to regard themselves as a minority in the country, saying that all people, regardless of religion, have equal rights in Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister, who was virtually present at an event at Dhakeswari Mandir in Dhaka and JM Sen Hall in Chattogram from her official residence, Ganabhaban, stated, “We desire equal rights for people of all faiths. You have equal rights in this country if you are a citizen. You and I both have the same rights, “She stated.
The government news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, described Hasina as sharing greetings with Hindu community leaders on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.
“Please don’t put yourself down,” she urged. She stated that if everyone moved with this confidence, the evil sector, regardless of religion, would never be able to destroy the country’s religious unity.
“We must maintain our belief and solidarity. This is what I expect from you all. “She filed an appeal.
The Prime Minister, on the other hand, slammed a part of the Hindu community for implying that Hindus were in a poor situation in Bangladesh.
“I would like to express one thing with severe sadness that whenever any incidence occurs in the country, it is enormously publicized at home and abroad in such a way that the Hindu people have no right in this country,” she added.
Sheikh Hasina stated that every time an issue occurs, the government takes swift response.
