Brexit Row: Everything You Need to Know

Britain’s stance to leave the European Union and make the so-called “divorce” with the EU has always been a stirring topic at the Kingdom and the EU27. However, the decision to make the exit was made after a huge voting session held at all the constituencies. The Brexit referendum of 2016 was held to decide whether Britain will Leave or stay in the economic bloc containing the twenty 27 European countries. The margin where the decision was made was so narrow and hence the chaos and confusion is still prevalent. Of the total 72% voters, 51% of them voted to leave the EU and 49% voted to stay in the EU. Just like all divorces, this humongous divorce also costs expensive, is painful and presuppose breaking up of ties.

Why Brexit?

The British Prime Minister Theresa May has expressed that, the years-long old process where an immigrant’s nationality is seen for working at the UK is irrational, where there are nationals from Non-EU countries like India, who are suffering from the long and tiring Visa procedures. In short, she meant that the Brexit will open doors to a new system of evaluation of the immigrants which is based only on the individual’s skills and talents and not on the basis of the country they are from.

Also, many in the favour of the Brexit express that this decision will reinstate the country’s belief and the ability to make laws. And this will also save the thousands of jobs for the Britons.

The Draft for Brexit – EU Draft

The Brexit divorce draft was penned down and agreed with the EU27. But in order the draft to be sanctioned, it should be voted with a majority at the UK’s House of Commons and should be accepted by the other 27 nations. If the House of Commons rejects the draft (the House of Commons is planned to meet around Dec 7), then the Government will have up to 21 days to redraft the document and get it agreed with EU from the first.

While the UK Cabinet supported the draft, two cabinet ministers and one junior minister resigned immediately, in which a minister was the Brexit Secretary – Dominic Raab. The political turmoil where there are many efforts to dissolve the PM’s leadership is happening, the PM stated that she is focussed for the critical week of Negotiations at Brussels.
