The dark side culture in entertainment industry and support the cause, trend of black was set in golden globes award with desi girl joining

Not just the Hollywood but our known Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra also joined the trend not something fashion but The 75th edition of prestigious Golden Globe Awards has been dyed dark with celebrities opting for black coloured outfits in the wake of recent sex scandals in Hollywood and to extend support to the anti-harassment campaign Time’s Up.

With the influx of sexual misconduct allegations in entertainment — and other industries — especially after the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke in October, stars of the big and small screen planned to wear all black to the award show in support of those who have spoken out about sexual harassment and to protest gender inequality.

The actress took to Instagram to share a photograph of her in an all-black ensemble — much like what was flaunted by Hollywood’s Who’s Who at the awards gala on Sunday in Los Angeles. Priyanka Chopra has also, in several instances, opened up about sexual harassment not just in the workplace but everywhere else too. In fact, talking about the Harvey Weinstein case she had said, “I don’t think there’s ‘a’ Weinstein. I don’t even think there’s one Weinstein in Hollywood. There are a lot more men, and not just in India, but everywhere else. Just men trying to take away power (from women). It is not about sex, it is about power; about putting a woman in ‘her lane.’ For the longest time women have been told only one of us will survive. Only the best girl will get the job. But that just can’t be tolerated anymore. “The actor, who is currently occupied with the shoot of Quantico, couldn’t make it to the event but took to Instagram to declare her support to the ongoing red-carpet movement. Hours before the much-anticipated event, Priyanka took to Instagram to share a photo of her dressed in black. She captioned the image as, “Today we wear black. Wherever you are, whoever you are, whatever you’re doing…join us #TimesUp #WhyWeWearBlack

The Quantico star had compared the film industry to a “big boys’ club”, where women always live with the fear that one wrong move can cost them their career. “In our business, if you don’t stroke someone’s ego or network, you’re threatened that you’ll not get that movie. Or this ‘big boys club’ will get together and boycott you. So, as a woman, you feel alone, that my work might get shattered because this club can just take that away. It’s an isolating feeling. The easiest thing to take away from a woman is her work,” she had said. “So what if I’m in heels? So what if I wear a dress? We’ve been told our femininity is our weakness, but it is not. We can be compassionate. We can be tough. When you open your mouth, you deliver,” she added.

We surely are proud of the fact that PeeCee is supporting something so great.And, while actresses like Meryl Streep, Emma Watson, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie and more decided to support this campaign, the TimesUp initiative by wearing an all-black ensemble, even when she couldn’t attend the event news as  per IANS and times.
