Rohit Pandey is a technician of the company SpiceJet. He expired last night (Tuesday) while working in his field. The SpiceJet stated that his death was caused when the hydraulic doors of the aircraft’s main landing gear closed without any notice and trapped RohitPandey. It is concluded that the death was caused due to suffocation. The incident took place in Kolkata airport (dum dum, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose international airport). He was pulled in possibly by the hydraulic pressure of the aircraft. This incident took place when he was busycarrying out his daily work of inspection on the airplane- SpiceJet. The plane has its hydraulic flap in its underbelly, which is reported to have closed without any prior instruction- confirmed after the investigation. It is said that cops were called in the emergency and they had to break the door to rescue the body from within. Moreover the cops have started their investigation for finding out whether the pressure acted on the victim.
Meanwhile, the company expressed their shockby stating that they are extremely sad about whatever harm has been caused to their technician. They are sad about losing Rohit Pandey in an unfortunate accident. They also said that Pandey was working in the landing gear wheel of the right side of Q400, parked in airport Bay No.32. Unfortunately the hydraulic doors trapped him andbecame the reason of his death.
