Death of a passenger in Kolkata metro, as his hand got stuck between the doors and was taken off.

The victim of this incident was identified to be Sajal Kumar Kanjilal. When he was carried to the hospital, the authority claimed that he is dead. The metro authority of Kolkata has ordered to inquire about this incident seriously.

Sajal Kumar Kanjilal was a resident of South Kolkata and was 66 years old. The incident of his death took place on last Saturday, 14th July 2019. It was a nightmare for rest of the passengers who were stuck inside the metro and were feeling suffocated because the air conditioner stopped working due to poor electricity supply or something else.

The passengers inside the train were very offended regarding the irresponsibility of the metro authority. They complained of being stuck inside the train for more than 20 minutes and at last were taken out through the emergency back door. The incident occurred at 6:40 P.M and the service was suspended for about one hour.

The first underground railway (the metro, Kolkata) started its operation in the year 1995, February with 24 stations. The Kolkata metro operates through one line (Noapara to Kavi Subhas) which connects from North to South. The other five lines are under construction process.
