According to local media, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has urged party activists to prepare for the ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ on Islamabad.
The Express Tribune stated, citing sources, that the summons for the lengthy march can be issued to party workers after October 9, the birth date of Prophet Muhammad.
During a Monday party meeting at his Bani Gala mansion in the federal capital, Imran Khan ordered party workers from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab province to make final preparations for the decisive round of anti-government rallies, according to The Express Tribune.
“This time, the liberation march will be carried out with proper planning,” the former Prime Minister remarked, according to the journal.
According to reports, key figures, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, and Yasmin Rashid, attended the meeting.
It is worth noting that the PTI is attempting to up the ante against the incumbent administration by calling for early elections in the country.
PTI head Imran Khan has repeatedly stated that “only early elections can end economic and political crises in Pakistan” and that a timely election would have saved the country from the current economic catastrophe.
During a significant rally last month in Punjab’s Rahimyar Khan area, Khan stated that he would issue the final call for anti-government protests when he was confident that he could “take three wickets in one ball.”
