Anand Sharma, a senior Congress politician and former union minister stated on Wednesday that the party requires revival, which is achievable via teamwork.
On Wednesday, he paid a visit to Shimla and met privately at the HP Congress Committee State office with Pratibha Virbhadra Singh, the state party’s leader.
After he resigned from his position as Chairman of the party’s steering committee, this was his first gathering in his home state.
“We have raised issues, and throughout several meetings in the past, these issues have been thoroughly reviewed. Many problems are resolved, yet some remain unresolved. Hopefully, it is a genuine belief that if we make specific internal reforms, the Congress would be renewed and revived, “Sharma stated.
In response to a question, he wrote in his letter to the party’s acting president that he hoped his voice would be heard.
“Like congressmen, we offer certain recommendations, just as you might in a family or other group of people. Consequently, it belongs to the Congress family.” Added he.
He further added that “Neither the “A” group nor the “B” group can save Congress. The Congress must be resurrected as a whole since it is the Congress that comes first. We are dedicated to party reforms, but we are worried that we have effectively given up a significant amount of political ground in a crucial state. Our political rivals have dominated us; as a group, we must fight toward recovery and regeneration in those areas.”
Mr. Sharma emphasized the party’s internal changes and reforms once more. He stated: “We will keep trying to implement the suggestions we make. Wherever needed, I’ll run for office, and we’ll discuss issues affecting the underrepresented groups, including women and young people.”
