Born to an Indian-American Sikh family, Nimrata “Nikki” Haley was the first Indian-American to hold the Post of United States Ambassador to the United Nations. She was also the first Indian-American to hold office in South Carolina. With her conservative fashion of carrying herself, she created a niche for her in the United States Foreign Policies. Her declaration on Sanctions against Russia and North Korea at UN Security Council became a stern political win for her. On Tuesday, Nikki announced her resignation as a UN ambassador at the end of the year. She even received a tremendous endorsement from the President saying that ‘Hayley is a fantastic person and has done an incredible job’, which surely be valuable for her future political career.
While going through a successful phase of her Political career, a sudden resignation raised some eyebrows over the Trump team and the vocal diplomat’s political ambitions. The announcement came as a surprise for the US Allies and even thwarted the ambition of White House to reflect an image of stability amidst the congressional elections. But her announcement of resigning way before the elections saves her from looking disloyal following the elections.
Hearing assumptions about her possible presidential run in the next election, Nikki cleared the airs stating that, she will campaign for President Trump in the upcoming elections and will not run for the presidential race. The point of time when she maintained a good rapport with the president while elevating her stance in the Republican jungle, is definitely not a bad moment to declare her resignation.
With big ambitions, stupendous support from Women and experience as a Governor, Nikki Haley might be an incredible candidate to run for the presidential elections 2024 for the Republicans.
