The attempt to hijack the plane in Bangladesh has been foiled. After the flight hijack attempt, the aircraft was given an emergency landing at Shah Amant International Airport in Chittagong. During this flight hijack effort, a man tried to enter the cockpit of the aircraft with a gun. The aircraft is from Bangladesh Airlines which was going from Dhaka to Dubai. However, the accused was later arrested.
According to eyewitnesses and airport officials, the plane was going to Dhaka from Chittagong to Dubai via Chittagong. It was about 5:40 pm on Sunday evening when it was landed at Chittagong airport. There were 145 passengers on the plane.
According to unconfirmed reports, a gunman entered the cockpit and tried to take charge. After this, the emergency landing was carried to the aircraft, while the media report said that all passenger aircraft was taken off after landing, but gunmen and two crew members are still in the plane.
Police and Rapid Action Battalion surrounded the runway. The flight was taken off at Chittagong at 5.00 pm today (24-02-2019) in Chittagong. The airport manager said that the aircraft has been abducted, but apart from that, he could not tell anything.
It is being told that the noise of shooting the aircraft was also heard. However, no one has yet revealed the possibility of being shot. The passengers flying from the plane were very scared once they understood that they are in a flight hijack situation.
According to the latest report, the Bangladesh Commandos stormed into the passenger jet and shot down the gunman behind this flight hijack at 10.00 PM. More details would be uncovered after the detailed inquiries to follow.
