Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravi Kumar said that the meeting will be co-chaired by Swaraj and Wang, and the decision to set up this forum was taken at the Wuhan Summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Chunfing.

Further to develop the inflow of Chinese Tourists, India has expanded the e-visa facility by generating more visas for the citizens of China. E-Visa facility will also be available to citizens who now go to China as conferences and medical assistantships from India.

India has taken this step to attract more tourists from China. Despite the facilities like e visa, only 2.4 lakh Chinese tourists visited India last year. Whereas, 14 lakh Indian tourists went on a trip to China. Minister of State for Tourism J. Alphons launched a special campaign in Beijing, Wuhan, and Shanghai with an estimated 20 Indian tour operators in August to attract more Chinese tourists.

The Indian Embassy in Beijing announced on Thursday that the Indian government has decided to provide e-Visa facility to the people of China who attend the conference and those who go for medical aid. So far, people who attended the conference in India got approval from the Indian government on the visa.
