“Freedom At Last”: Influencer Andrew Tate Moved From Jail To House Arrest

Bucharest, Romania: After being detained for three months in Romania, controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother were released on Friday and placed under house arrest while being looked into for alleged rape and human trafficking.

Tate, a former British-American kickboxer with millions of online fans, is being investigated along with his younger brother and two Romanian women for allegedly “forming an organised criminal group, human trafficking, and rape.”

After being detained in pre-trial detention since their arrest in late December, Tate, 36, and his brother Tristan, 34, renewed their pre-trial detention period last week.

A court ruling obtained by AFP states that an appeals court “rejected the prosecution’s proposal to extend the pre-trial detention” and ordered the two to be placed “under house arrest.”

The brothers were released from the police central detention facility in Bucharest around midnight (2100 GMT) with the assistance of their Romanian attorneys amid tumultuous scenes, according to an AFP journalist. The brothers vigorously deny all charges brought against them.

As Andrew Tate arrived at his home, cheers and hollers from his supporters greeted him with the words, “Freedom at last.” Since I’ve been confined to one room since last year, it’s a little emotional.

He thanked the judges for releasing him and vowed to prove his innocence regarding all allegations.

Young fans greeted Andrew Tate with cries of “Top G” (for gangster), his nickname, as the media swarmed the entrance.

Tristan declared that the judges had made “the right choice” and vowed to demonstrate his innocence.

They were unable to communicate with other parties to the case, according to their solicitor Eugean Vidineac, and they were not permitted to “leave their home without prior approval from judicial authorities.”

He had earlier insisted that the brothers posed no flight risk.

“They have no justification for running away because the Tate brothers don’t want to live in hiding. Being on the run is not a life worth living. They simply feel worn out and want to rest “said he.
