Here are world’s top 10 most valuable startups, as per Hurun

After the United States and China, India has the world’s third-largest unicorn population. India now has 54 unicorns, which is more than double the number it had last year. According to Hurun Research Institute’s latest Global Unicron Index 2021, the total worth of all unicorns in the globe has doubled to the US $ 3.7 billion. With 487 unicorns, the United States led the index, followed by China with 301 unicorns. With 39 unicorns, the United Kingdom was relegated to the fourth position.

Startups are divided into three categories by Hurun Research Institute: unicorns, gazelles, and cheetahs. Unicorns, according to their definition, are firms valued at $1 billion or more that were created after the year 2000. Startups that are most likely to become unicorns in the following two years are known as gazelles. Cheetahs are startups that have a chance to become unicorns in the next four years.

Online educator BYJU’s, valued at $21 billion, was the most valuable Indian company, followed by mobile ad-tech business InMobi, valued at $12 billion, and travel stay finder OYO Rooms, valued at $9.5 billion.

According to the Hurun Global Unicorn Index 2021, TikTok owner ByteDance is the world’s most valuable billion-dollar startup, valued at $350 billion. It is followed by Alibaba Group subsidiary Ant Group, which is valued at $150 billion, and Elon Musk-led SpaceX, which is valued at $100 billion.

Stripe, based in the United States, and Klarna, based in Sweden, are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Among the top ten are Canva, Instacart, and Databricks.
