‘India by right enjoys…,’ says Vladimir Putin on Independence Day.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated India on its 75th year of independence on Monday. Putin expressed his best wishes to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that India has “achieved widely acknowledged success” in various spheres, including social, science, technology, and economy, since independence.

“India by right enjoys considerable authority on the world stage, playing a constructive role in solving urgent issues on the international agenda,” Putin added.

“Moscow and New Delhi are successfully collaborating in a variety of areas and engaging effectively as members of the UN, BRICS, SCO, and other international bodies.” “I am confident that our combined efforts will ensure the continuation of the complete set of profitable Russian-Indian ties for the sake of our two countries and in the interests of enhancing regional and global security and stability,” Putin said in his statement.

Earlier in the day, on the celebration of India’s 76th Independence Day, Modi raised the national flag at the Red Fort and urged for greater self-reliance in the country. In an 80-minute speech, he outlined India’s economic and development strategy for the next 25 years, when the country will celebrate its centennial of independence. The prime minister also praised the Indian military services for their support of the ‘Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance)’ vision.
