The World Health Organization (WHO) said that research has emphasized that the spread of Coronavirus 2nd Wave is much faster than the spread of the first wave in India.
Geneva: Coronavirus has changed its form so far and the Indian variant is spreading rapidly. The Indian variant (B.1.617) has been found in at least 17 countries so far and the World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern about it. Last week 57 lakh cases of corona infection were reported and these figures have crossed the peak of all earlier waves.
More than 1200 sequences created
The UN Health Agency said in its weekly pandemic information that the B1.617 variant or ‘Indian variant’ of SARS-COV-2 is believed to be the cause of rising corona virus cases in India, which the WHO has described as variants of Explained as Interest (VOI). It said, as of 27 April, about 1200 sequences have been uploaded to GISAID and variant V1.617 has been found in at least 17 countries.
GISAID provides data
GISAID is a global science initiative and primary source established in 2008, providing open access to the genome data of the corona virus responsible for influenza virus and COVID-19 global epidemics.
Second wave much faster than first wave
The agency said, “The emerging variants of SARS-COV-2 within the Pango variant B.1.617 were recently reported as a VOI from India and WHO has recently described it as a VOI.” WHO said that studies have emphasized that the spread of the second wave is much faster than the spread of the first wave in India.
The Indian variant is spreading rapidly
The World Health Body’s report said, ‘Initial Modeling by WHO based on sequences assigned to GISAID has revealed that B.1.617 is evolving at a faster pace than other types broadcast in India, Which is probably more contagious, as well as other types of viruses being transmitted are also becoming more contagious. ‘
