Irma hurricane keeping strong will hand moved towards Florida though Indian- Americans dismissing evacuation warning

It seem Indian-American bound on taking risk large number of Indian American in Florida  who major of them engage in hotel business and other business sphere have taken decision to stay up with Irma hurricane after the evacuation warning issued.

Irma category 5 hurricane started from Caribbean Island though it lost a step now reported to be category 4 hurricane by reaching in Florida, has still lot of strength seeing this, to take safety precautions government issued order of immediate evacuation warning around Florida. President Trump had said” Irma is a storm of absolutely historic destructive potential”. HE also said “I ask everyone in the storm‘s path to be vigilant, and to heed all recommendations from government officials and law enforcement.” He further added,” nothing is more important than the safety and security of our people. We are doing everything we can to help with disaster preparation and, when the time comes we will restore, recover, and rebuild —together as American”.

Indian –American who own large number of Hotels in Florida have opened up their properties for the people in need so have temples and community place non-profit organization such as SEWA  who engage themselves voluntarily preparing food and necessary essentials to those affected by the storm around Florida.

Vivek Swaroop who has his own consultancy business in Fort Lauderdale area of Florida said” We have put the shutter made all the precautions for any onslaught of the hurricane, because we have gone through these types of hurricane every two years so we know how to prepare.” He also said there is lot of anxiety among Indian –American seen and most of that he know have kept their house filled with essentials  blockade their houses with shutters some of them live in East Side which much near the Ocean have evacuated.

One other resident Hotelier Danny Gaekwad  said that most of the Indian –Americans are well –off living single family quality life can with stand wind speed up to 120 per miles per hour. HE lives in area Ocala of Florida is helping out 200 campers from campground to his hotel of his own. As government has made mandatory evacuation of 5.6 million people Gaekwad one of them who helping evacuation and helping out.IT seem that several hundred miles out of Florida are full to their capacity, even banquet are converted to shelter to people who have lost their homes.

A Community leader Chandra Kant Singhania from Miami said that most Indian- Americans said including him they are not leaving the city and have taken all precaution to stay safe.

Many temples and community Centre have also opened up for shelter, Subhash Razdan of Gandhi Foundation USA said” Looking at the frequency of natural disasters recently hitting our American continent, where we have enjoyed overwhelming freedom to practice and pursue our respective faiths and plurality, it behooves to hold “havans” and prayers services for the well-being of our fellow citizen affected by the calamities”.

According to reports from the Census from 2010 The Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach area of Florida has Indian American population of more than 40,000 and as weather reports these will be the worst affected part after Irma’s landfall. Florida altogether has more than 128,000 Indian –American.
