NEW Delhi: Yesterday, with the fifth edition of Global conference on Cyberspace going on in capital of India, PM Modi announced a new application UMANG with trying to keep one of the important Modi government project with view of Digitization India.

While PM Modi referring to the project on launch said “Digital India is the world’s largest programme employing technology to help citizens and improving services delivery”.

Where in UMANG is Unified Mobile Application for New- Age Governance, to make it short an all government services. The primary target to achieve address the issue of multiplicity by bringing all the services offered by the government into a single app. Currently UMANG will be service hand to use as Digi locker, Aadhaar, Bharat Bill Payment, Pan Services, Rapid Assessment System, etc. application has over 100 services from Central and State government. While government set a target of 1200 + services to be add by end of December 2019, with allowing the customers to access every services of government from UMANG itself. It is said that the government will provide customer support every day between 8Am and 8 PM. The application is said to be created by Ministry of Electronics Information Technology (MeitY) and National e- Governance Division (NeGD). The app is available on Android, iOS and Windows phones.

However Modi also provided a strong pitch for information sharing and coordination among nations to prevent cyber space becoming a play area for terrorism, referring to app also said quest of an open and accessible Internet often leads to vulnerabilities like cyber-attacks, and a major focus area should be training of well – equipped professional to counter cyber threats. He also pointed to fact about  stories of hacking and defacement of website are common arising problem while cyber- attack are significant threats especially in the democratic world so to ensure that vulnerable section of our society do not fall in hands of evil of cyber criminals news as per telecom talk.
