Neeraj Chopra attains a silver medal at World Final

Neeraj Chopra, one of India’s ace athletes, created history once again as he became the first man from India and the second Indian after Anju Bobby George to secure a medal at the World Athletics Champions, as he achieved a silver medal with a throw of 88.13 meters in the finals, which was conducted at Oregon in the USA. Anderson Peters defended his World Champion title with three throws over the 90 m mark, while Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic took the bronze with an 88.09m throw.

Neeraj had a slow start at the beginning of the finals. In the beginning, Neeraj’s throw turned out to be foul. He later had 82.39m and 86.37m and became fourth after three rounds. He got his form. His fourth-round throw came out to be 88.13m. He jumped to second place, which he held on to till the end. His fifth and sixth throws were fouls.

There were enormous expectations from the star athlete, and his fans instantly took over social media to congratulate him. Neeraj Chopra had previously won the gold medal at Tokyo Olympics last year and created history after becoming the second Indian after Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra to secure an individual gold in the Olympics.

The other Indian in the competition was Rohit Yadav, who finished in the 10th position with his best throw of 78.72 meters. In the qualification round, Rohit attained 11th position with a best throw of 80.42 meters.
