Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief JP Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari have all been named to the party’s list of star campaigners ahead of the Gujarat elections next month.
Star campaigners are crowd-pullers for parties whose expenditures on the campaign trail do not exceed the Election Commission’s candidate spending cap.
Gujarat BJP President CR Patil, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Union Ministers Arjun Munda and Smriti Irani are also on the list.
Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh, Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam, and Devendra Fadnavis of Maharashtra will all be prominent campaigners.
Former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel have also been named. Both had declined to run in the election.
Manoj Tiwari, a Bhojpuri singer and party MP, actor-politician Ravi Kishan, and singer-politician Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ will also be on the list.
