Yes the biggest dam  after US Grand Coulee will finally ready ,On 17th September Pm Modi will inaugurate newly constructed gates gifting nation Sardar sarvor dam at Kevadia in Gujarat which happens to be PM 67th birthday.

Finally completion of Sardar Sarovar Dam on Narmada river the Government of Gujarat has decided to celebrate and mark occasion with 2 week – long ‘maa Narmada mahotsav’ which will start from  17th September. After inaugurating newly constructed gate Pm will travel Sadhu Bet where Statue of Unity an iconic  of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which is under construction and will also attend closing ceremony and address to gathered at Dabhoi in Vadodara district and marking the day with laying Foundation stone for the National Tribal Freedom Fighters museum during the event. That’s how is the PM Modi fully packed day of Modi on his birthday with inaugurate world’s second biggest dam.

IT took Sardar Sarovar Dam (SSD) to come into existence nearly 56 years as its foundation stone was laid by Jawaharlal Nehru in Narmada district Kevadia the dam which will be highest ranking second in world in Kevadia district of Gujarat. The dam is one of India’s most controversial for its environmental impact and net costs and benefits are widely debate topic sine its foundation stone laid. The World Bank was initially funding SSD, but withdrew in 1994. The Narmada Dam has been the center of controversy and protest since the late 1980 with issues of rehabilitation and increase in height of dam. IT 1.2 km long dam which is 163m deep has till date produce 4141 crore unit of electricity from its top two power houses which are installed capacity of 1200mw and 25mw respectively. The dam has earned over Rs16, 000 crore more than double cost of its construction each gate of dam weight 450 ton which takes 1hour to close. The SSD will benefit 18 lakh hectare of land will flow to over 9000 villages of Gujarat through canal network. As decided power produce will be shared among three states Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat gets 57, 27 and 16 respectively. The SSD will also irrigate 2, 46,000 hectare of land in the strategically important desert in Rajasthan.

After also issues and final reports of benefit of dam it got Narmada authority gave government clearance for 138.68m and Supreme Court got passed order for completion by 2014 which is when Modi came into power as PM of India. The Narmada control  authority had ordered the gates of  Sardar Sarovar Project be shut by on June 16 .Now with September 17th with PM   birthday and on completion of final Sardar Sarovar Project Came into full existence of second biggest Dam in world Sardar Sarovar Dam.
