Protest against Women entry into Sabarimala
The Sabarimala Sastha Devasthanam has opened its door to the devotees today. The Supreme court’s judgement lifted the centuries-old ban against women to enter the Temple. A few women have started their journey to visit the all-mighty following the holy journey called “Iyyapan Paadhai”. Although the court has passed the entry of women into the temple, lakhs of women themselves are not satisfied with this verdict.
A lot of people are taking part in the protest. Eventually, a band of Women Protesters including Tribal women residing in Sabarimala are vigilant about women entering the temple. They stop the women by halting every vehicle crossing Nilackal. A huge task force is assigned at Nilackal and Pamba for safety. The Women cops overlooked the protestors to make sure that the other devotees and passengers were not harassed. Consequently talks to put forth a review petition against this verdict is going rounds between the royal family of Pandalam and the Travancore Devaswom Board.
On the contrary, numerous women are fighting in the protest against this verdict pertaining the entry for Women themselves. Consequently, the verdict seems quite hostile weighing the number of women who want entry as opposed to women who want to follow their traditions.
