According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, since December 2019 more than 114 243 cases of Coronavirus have been reported, including 4.023 deaths. The worst area affected by the virus, besides China, is now Italy with around 10,000 affected and 463 deaths.
In order to stem the spread of the virus, the government of Italy decided to put more than 60 million people on lockdown. All the sports events have canceled and cinemas, theatres, and nightclubs have closed. Religious ceremonies, including funerals and weddings, will also be postponed under the lockdown.
Because of the outbreak of the virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) has informed that the threat of a pandemic has become very real. In spite of that, the organization has assured that those who are infected most will recover. An example is that of the 80,000 reported cases in China, more than 70% have recovered and been discharged.
Up until now, 56 cases have confirmed in India. Is not a higher number compared to the world. However, is important to keep alert because of the quick spread of the Coronavirus, which can be transmitted from person to person through sneezing or coughing as well as by direct contact.
The late decision of the Indian government was ordered the Central Armed Police Forces to prepare quarantine facilities to admit more than 5,400 people. That early action is a response to slow down the virus and prevent infections.
