An Indian born Sri Ram Krishnan will be joining twitter as senior director of the product from October 2 formerly was a top tech executive from facebook and snap.
As Krishnan hired by twitter will take up responsibility for a lot of the core feature inside the main app, internally referred to as “blue bird” including timeline, direct messaging and search technology new website.
Krishnans who left snap earlier this year just a month before the company’s ipo is joining twitter as senior director of the product reported recoding. Krishnan is well-known product guy around silicon valley though the primary focus on ad tech, at facebook also he under taking were to build company ad network, audience network for snap, contributed in company’s api. However now his ground shifted on consumer product role and for a company that has trouble keeping consumer product execs over the past few years as in to say twitter facing amess. It seems quite positive from both sides as offering krishnan who could probably head wherever he wanted or can have started his own company.
Hence internal scenario is something looks like ceo jack Dorsey will have two guys handling product reporting to him kayvon beykpour, who runs live video and periscope and edho gm of all product and engineering at twitter. Keith coleman who joined twitter as head product running company’s core app also reports hoand joining Krishnan who will report the Coleman and seem also handling few Coleman responsibility. As from beginning it was facing issues that app is hard to use and that sign-up process is confusing and cumbersome a combination that turn off new users.
Krishnan though to happy and explained it was working on a product with twitter impact was just too hard to pass up.
It is something I deeply care about and I couldn’t pass up a chance to be a part of it.
