Here’s what happened during the IG live
Yuvi jokingly used the term bhangi for Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav and pulled their legs regarding TikTok videos. He had said that these ‘bhangi’ people and Yuzi has no work. The video surfaced on the internet widely and created social media outrage. #YuvrajSinghmaafimaango also dominated Twitter back then.
After the remark, there was a social media outrage and following that Yuvi had apologised for his unintentional remarks and had claimed that he was misunderstood. The 39-year-old took to Twitter and had written that he was misunderstood while he was having a conversation with his friends and it was unwarranted. If he has unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings, he would like to express regret for the same.
For the initiated, in February 2021, the Haryana Police had filed an FIR against Yuvraj under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and provisions of the Indian Penal Code. Lawyer Rajat Kalsan had alleged that Yuvi’s comment had hurt the sentiments of the Dalit community.
